Born in Bradford, Vermont in 1804, Benjamin B. Mussey moved to Boston to engage in "humble but honorable employment."In time he entered the book trade, and remained in that occupation until his death. His store "Sign of the Bible Warehouse" advertised: 'constantly for sale, a large assortment of School, Miscellaneous and Theological Books. Also, a good assortment of Stationary, at the lowest prices.' | |
Mussey served as a trustee of Tufts College from 1851 until his death in 1857, and for three of those years served as Treasurer. | |
Benjamin B. Mussey died on January 12, 1857, after a lingering illness. | |
