Marjorie Belle Greene was born to I. Lloyd Green and Mary Belle Luce in Poughkeepsie in September 1896. She attended schools in Poughkeepsie and Boston and in December 1932, she married John Arthur Greene. She was one of the founders of the Boston School of Occupational Therapy. In 1918 and 1919, she was secretary to the first dean of the BSOT, Sarah M. Lake, and from 1920 to 1923 she and Ruth Wigglesworth were directors. Beginning in 1923, and until her retirement in 1960, she was director and president. In 1961, she received an honorary Master of Education degree from Tufts. She was a pioneer in occupational therapy and a leader in its state and national organizations. | |
