That day everything went wrong. Too hot to be too sticky. It wasn't dignified, like fate, Or awkward, like unlucky. It was a day so contrary From failed morning to wasted night That several things that always Went wrong went right. The limit was a live goose I had put in a big bottle, Not thinking what I was about, Till someone asked me bow With no glassbreak or bloodshed Ever I could get it out. There it is!" I yelled. "There!" Said they, "There where?" Not in the bottle now, And no breakage either. How? I put it in with my words. I took it out the same way. And what worked with these Can with any words I say." | |
