Laughter
Laughter
In all his years, man laughs three times at life Once, as a little child, a rill of merriment As a clear and sparkling as a mountain stream Again, in flush of youth, a strong and ringing laugh, A laugh of joy, for battle, for the dream He sees all bright, and means to make come true; And once again in later life, chuckle At remembered days, a laugh of satisfaction And of aged pride at life lived through. | |
