The cottage of broken dreams
The cottage of broken dreams
A little white cottage stands close by the lake That sheltered two dreamers a while, The cottage is vacant- the dreamers today Are parted by many a mile.
If dreamers that dwell in a cottage of dreams Would turn from society's lure, They might keep on living for aye in a dream - The dream only love makes secure.
It beckons tonight like a ghost of the past All flooded in silver moonbeams, A lump fills my throat, with dim eyes I pass by The cottage of broken-dreams.
