Knowing what I know
Knowing what I know
I'll build a solid, tower here Where sea has bared the stone, Where salt would not let live The seed that I had sown.
Knowing the sharp thrust nerves, The storm of blood, the shock, I'll bind the walls with iron, And build with squared rock.
Remembering many a golden name That is spoken of no more, Knowing what I know now, I'll carve above the door:
"One who went before you, Loving life and all its pain, Built this tower to celebrate Death's defeat again."
