If I should wake again Years and years from now' And wander wide to where you are, No matter how. And take your hand to ask you, "Are these here Nights hushed and starlit, Days clear And hear-full as the night and day Just gone away?"- You would answer, "Yes," And I again "Are these parts and laughter Rich and brave? Beats beauty like a blinding wave Across men's eyes?" And you would nod your head To me awakened From the restless dead. "Is there a word unspoken, Now, as then, Between two where the meadow grass And flowers Bloom in the mind?"- And you, would you answer "'Yes-like ours'?" | |
