Now, thinking back to golden days and eves When all my world was you, and I was yours, And the real world a sound beyond closed doors, And love a sweeter thing than man believes, | |
I know that we are blessed, and I know That, all else lost, we could not lose this past. Here in this very hour you are my last Dream and my first, and all around me go | |
A thousand thoughts of you. Present and past I have, and nobly rich in these, and love Of you, beloved heart, it seems above My fortune that the gods should further cast Down joy upon me. Yet I have in you The past, the present, and the future, too. | |
