Northward letter [In this moment]
Northward letter [In this moment]
In this moment, the lamplight shining low, The sky outside my window river-blue, The clock tick-ticking seconds as they go, This moment hear me wish my love to you.
The walls here, roof here always overhead, And the same shadows now as yesterday- Now take the moment from my hand outspread, This flower opening while it blows away.
I wish the walls and sky and love to you, The light and shadow lifted in my hand; I send you, over leagues of darkening land, This moment, with the night wind blowing through,
And leaning northward like a tree, would soar Myself, but feel roots tugging in this floor.
