Underwater
Underwater
You plunge in the sunny water down And leave a track of brightness Torn slantwise in the green and cool By the spearthrust of your whiteness, One arm held downward from your face, Easy as a thought you swim Through that underwater world, Green-sunlit, swaying, dim, To fill the hollow, water swirls Behind you as you glide, And yields like air, and pours Cool along your side. From your knees the bubbles break In upward showers of light, And all around your head the hair Is floating long and bright. | |
