The forgotten hero
The forgotten hero
When a stately tree is felled, And carries in it's mighty downward sweep Surrounding smaller trees, and crashes To the ground, a prone and broken thing, The echoes run and bear the tale In accents long and sad and deep, Unto the hills, and back, And back again, and ever fainter, Till the final whisper dies away. | |
