When all the words we lived to say are said, Life-giving words we waited long to find, Or put the day and daylight out of mind, What shall we do? What was there left to do After the Holy Grail was found again, After the westward passage let men through, What for the knights and navigating men? | |
That part of the tale, too terrible to tell, They never let us hear, and that was well. | |
The truth is this, that there is nothing more. It is the shutting of a final door. The light goes out. The long, long war is won. The work that we were born to do is done. | |
