Who has not known
Who has not known
Who has not known a troubled time Of doubt, nor has experienced the dear Remembering of words and ways, Nor known an aching, or a selfless fear, Has not known love. Who has not known a surging heart, And lips tight locked; and who has not shed tears In secret; and whose deep regard Has not grown strong and slowly through long years, Has not known love. Who has not known how very sweet The greatest proof: how sacrifice can be So glorious; who has not known His soul set clear in shining ecstasy, Has not known love. | |
