Diver
Diver
Deep in sunny silvery water, Sandy bottom down below, You are plunging, all your body Bare, and white as snow.
One arm held downward from your face, Easy as a thought you swim In that clear underwater world, Stretching, curving, smooth, and slim.
Now like a slender spear released You feel cool water stream Past your breast, and water-broken Sunlight on your shoulder gleam.
Liquid-clear the water swirls Behind you as you glide, And yields like air and pours Cool along your side.
From your knees the bubbles break In upward showers of light, And all around your head the hair Is floating long and bright.
