This is a very small ward; its name is a corruption from Basings Haugh, or hall, formerly the principal house in Basingshall-street; it is wholly comprised in the precincts of , is governed by an alderman, and returns members to the court of common council. Its boundaries on the east and south, are ward, on the west, Cripplegate and Cheap wards, and on the north, Cripplegate ward. | |
