The million-peopled city

The heavy Manner in which Time hangs on their Hands.
The very heavy manner in which time hangs on their hands should also be a great inducement to Christian persons to seek to interest them profitably. They really often scarcely know what to do with themselves, and almost anything in the way of conversation is a relief. How powerful for good impression is such a circumstance! In visiting other classes of the population the difficulty is to get at them, and to find them at leisure, so that religious instruction may be seasonably given. There is no difficulty in this respect with pensioners. | |
