The following lists conclude the curious record of the names of the members of various trading companies in ; the whole has been printed verbatim from the manuscript, and forms an interesting view of the number and professions of the inhabitants of London during the reign of Henry the . The purpose for which it was taken is not known, probably to assess the richest members for

aids

to the crown, as figures are placed opposite several member's names; especially those of the affluent company of merchant taylors.
