Justice-Hall Court.


	This court is held by the king's commission of and , at justice-hall in the , times a year, for trying of criminals, for crimes committed within the city of London and county of Middlesex; the judges of the court are, the lord mayor, aldermen that are past the chair, and the recorder, who on all such occasions are attended by both the sheriffs, and generally by or more of the judges. All offences committed in the city are tried by a jury of citizens; and those committed in the county, by of that. The crimes and misdemeanours tried in this court, are high and petty treason, murder, felony, perjury, forgery, petty larceny, cheating, libelling, false weights and measures, &c. the penalties incurred by which, are the loss of life, corporal punishment, transportation, amerciaments, &c.
