Giltspur Street

Takes its name from the "gilt spurs" worn by the knights riding through to Smithfield; it was formerly called Knight Rider Street, and was the highway for all the pageants and fetes to pass into the field. As we pass along, we may just call attention to a portion of the kitchen of Christ's Hospital which belongs to Farringdon Without.
