If You Ask Me: A Global Banker Reflects on Our Times

What Lobby?
What main issues do you think the big bank lobby will be pressing this Congress to work out?
I didn't know there was a big bank lobby. There are fourteen thousand banks in the United States and for the most part their identification with the interests of Citibank or Bank of America is zero. On the other hand, their political clout is eight times greater than that of the big banks, because in Cut Bluff, Montana, the president of the local bank is the finance chairman of the local congressman. That's true all over the country.
