JOHN W. JOHNSON was born in Framingham, Massachusetts, June 14, 1856, and was educated at the Framingham Academy, where he pursued an extra course of two years, after graduating, devoting his time to the study of Latin, Greek, and the higher Mathematics. In 1887 he graduated from the Harvard Medical School, and in January, 1880, began practice in Boston.

In 1893 he became Professor of Midwifery at the Tufts Medical School, of which institution he is also Treasurer. He has a private hospital for obstetrical and gynæcological patients at No. 20 Worcester Street, Boston. Dr. Johnson is a member of the Massachusetts Medical Society, the American Medical Association, and the Boston Gynæcological Society; besides which he is a Director of and Physician to the North End Mission, and a member of the Mercantile Library Association and of the Boston City Council from Ward 18.
