Other Side of the Table

D&B: What was it like to become an outside director, to sit on the other side of the table, so to speak? Was it different than you had imagined it might be?

Jones: It was an easy transition for me because I had been fortunate to have had such a tremendously supportive and cordial relationship with our own board. I was well schooled. I had very strong outside directors. This was a select group of extraordinarily gifted individuals. Having had the opportunity to see how they worked together and with management was the most marvelous experience and training for me to be an outside director. I just simply tried to do what they had done so effectively.
