University Library Technology Services was a department started in 1997 after being branched off Tisch's Library Systems Office. From the early 1990s until 1997, the Library Systems Office handled both basic desktop issues and issues related strictly to library technology. In 1997, after a split from Tisch Library, University Library Technology Services was created as a centralized department that works on only library information and technology systems, and reports to the Office of the Provost. UTLS serves Tufts libraries with critical mission services such as the Millenium server, the ILLiad interlibrary loan system, TDNet, Scholarly Stats, and provides work for ULC teams with technical assistance on other department's projects.
