This thesis examines four works of Latin American immigrant authors and their portrayal of the language barrier and bilingualism. Drawing from Doris Sommer's Particularism, this thesis identifies Linguistic Particularist strategies within the novels, and examines the textual meanings of bilingualism and biculturalism.
