CuPd Single Atom Alloys as Selective Hydrogenation Catalysts.

Kammert, James Drayton.

2013

Description
  • I synthesize Cu nanoparticles (d<30nm) deposit them on y-Al2O3 support and verify their structure and composition using HRTEM imagery XRD CO chemisorption and H2-TPR. I then add low concentrations of Pd using a sonication method and verify uptake and alloying with UV-vis and XPS. Finally I demonstrate the improved ability of the catalyst to selectively hydrogenate phenylacetylene to styrene compared ... read more
