Boyce, Julia W.

2020

Description
  • In this thesis, I examine the intersection of gender expectation and the power of two queens during the Tudor era of English history. I use marriage, childbearing, and Catholicism to identify and analyze conflicts between feminine archetypes and the royal power and influence of Catherine of Aragon and Mary I of England. Advisor: Dr. Alisha Rankin.
