Background: We compared aortic stiffness, aortic impedance and pressure
from wave reflections in the setting of bicuspid aortic valve (BAV) to the tricuspid
aortic valve (TAV) in the absence of proximal aortic dilation. We hypothesized BAV is
associated with abnormal arterial stiffness.
