Summer Conventional wisdom, both Korean and non-Korean, assumes the division of this strategic peninsula to be temporary. Officially, the Korean War still has not ended but is in a state of armistice. Popular belief also accepts as true that the greatest obstacles to Korean reunification are the East-West rivalry and the balance of power in the North Pacific. Charles S. Lee, however, argues that domestic conditions in North and South Korea actually present the more serious hurdle- a hurdle unlikely to be disposed of too quickly. %[ 2018-10-04 %9 Text %~ Tufts Digital Library %W Institution
