The literature reveals that immigrants face a wide variety of barriers with obtaining food resources and some of this is directly related to the historical stigma and policy changes that have occurred over the years. Somerville is a city that is very diverse and also has a history of racism, which also affects food resource access. This project investigates the barriers and facilitators to food resources for immigrants in Somerville, Massachusetts. Data collection included six key informants of who work with immigrants in Somerville on food and health issues. Through use of the socio-ecological model as the theoretical framework, the interviews revealed where the gaps lie in accessing food resources for immigrants in Somerville, particularly through comparing SNAP and WIC. %[ 2022-10-07 %~ Tufts Digital Library %W Institution
