Somerville is a city that is very diverse and also has a history of racism, which also affects food resource access. This project investigates the barriers and facilitators to food resources for immigrants in Somerville, Massachusetts. Data collection included six key informants of who work with immigrants in Somerville on food and health issues. Through use of the socio-ecological model as the theoretical framework, the interviews revealed where the gaps lie in accessing food resources for immigrants in Somerville, particularly through comparing SNAP and WIC.read less
