  • Glycation is a non-enzymatic, post-translational modification that lacks a developed chemical understanding. Due to its implications in many relevant diseases, new tools are needed to study the the chemical mechanisms of glycation. To do this, we synthesized isotopically labelled methylglyoxal (MGO), which has already helped to inform the field of glycation in a variety of ways.
