Description

As NATO enlargement decisions approach, west Europeans remain supportive of the Atlantic Alliance. Just as Bosnia initially challenged and then reaffirmed the role of NATO in the post Cold War world, so too is the expansion of NATO to central and eastern Europe likely to challenge and strengthen the alliance.
