Black men that have sex with men (MSM), especially in New York City (NYC), face historical trauma, inadequate cultural considerations, stigma based on HIV status and sexual orientation, and have a low perceived risk of HIV. These barriers exacerbate risky sexual behaviors that increase the transmission chance of HIV and prevent some Black MSM from accessing testing and treatment for HIV.
