- This children's book was created for Tufts University course CSHD90 The Exceptional Child (Fall 2018, Professor Leandra Elion) Students created books for and about children with physical and/or intellectual disabilities. Author's description: I wanted to show in this book how children with and without disabilities can be friends and relate to each other. Olivia, the character without the physical ... read moredisability, actually looks up to her friend Thomas and wants to be like him. His "super magic car" represents a motorized wheelchair. The book is interactive so that children can feel the wheels on the car and can feel different aspects of the illustrations throughout the neighborhood, including ramps that are accessible to the wheelchair. Using manila folders to bind the book makes it easy to flip the pages, as well. I hope you have as much fun reading this book as I did making it!read less
