Her works translated into English include "The Diving Pool," "The Housekeeper and the Professor," and "Hotel Iris;" some works have been published in magazines such as "The New Yorker." Though it had not been translated into English until now, her story "The Ring Finger Specimen" has been translated into other languages, including French by Rose-Marie Makino-Fayolle (titled "L'Annulaire"), which was made into a movie (of the same title) by Diane Bertrand in 2005. This thesis includes a full English translation of the originally 82-page "The Ring Finger Specimen," as well as an introduction discussing the various themes of obsessions and fetishes, and the existent and the inexistent, present in the story. %[ 2022-10-07 %~ Tufts Digital Library %W Institution
