- In this paper, I examine contemporary political and demographic trends within Israel and the Palestinian territories. Through that research, I reach three ultimate conclusions. Second, the current governmental contexts within Israel (in the wake of new parliamentary elections) and Palestine (following the unification of Hamas and Fatah) make peace a theoretical possibility, but one that would require tremendous political sacrifice. Finally, given this insight, on a practical level, I argue that no current peace proposals are logistically viable, and that Israel and Palestine will likely evolve into a de facto singular state in the next several decades.read less
