International instruments as well as regional, national and local efforts have to be strengthened and re-examined in order to turn the tides. Indigenous efforts have to become organized and centralized in order to effect change. There needs to be significant patent law reform if change is to be real. The collective nature of innovation and traditional knowledge must be recognized in national legislation and at international levels.read less
