- This children's book was created for Tufts University course CSHD90 The Exceptional Child (Fall 2018, Professor Leandra Elion) Students created books for and about children with physical and/or intellectual disabilities. Author's description: Davey and Tracey want to build a Fort. Davey can't get the sticks very fast, and Tracey keeps knocking the Fort down! They switch jobs, and by playing to ... read moretheir strenghts, they build a great Fort! In this book I wanted to emphasize that everyone has strengths and weaknesses, which may or may not be visually apparent. Furthermore, I wanted to demonstrate that by focusing on strengths and including everyone we can accomplish more than we would be able to alone. I had originally planned to add spacers between the pages of the book. However, after creating the book I realized that there was naturally sufficient space between the pages. Comic sans was used for the narrative as it is easily readable for a wide range of people.read less
