The Boston and Providence Railroad Company Passenger Depot is situated to the north or behind and to the right of the fright depot. The Hotel Berkeley is located to the north of the train yard, at the corner of Berkeley, Boylston, and Providence Streets. Houses and apartment buildings line Providence Street, their facades facing north towards Boylston Street. The back walls of houses along Saint James Avenue are seen to the west of Berkeley Street, in the center-left portion of the photograph. The spire of the Arlington Street Church, located at the corner of Arlington and Boylston Streets, is also included in the center-right portion of the photograph. People can be seen walking across the Boston and Providence Railroad Company railroad yard along Berkeley Street.
