Henry Bromfield Pearson was born on March 29, 1795 and died June 29, 1867. His father, Eliphalet Pearson LL.D. (1752-1826), was the first preceptor of Phillips Andover Academy and became a professor of Hebrew and oriental languages at Harvard. After attending Andover, Henry Bromfield Pearson entered Yale as a member of the class of 1815. He left Yale for Harvard, from which he graduated with a B.A. in 1816.
