This collection includes class material, student records, memorabilia and student life records from 1916-1921. Included are: a Tufts War Service Bond made out to Mr. Shepard, entrance and class exams, paperwork and memorabilia related to Delta Tau Delta, newspaper clippings of sports scores, and material about University wide activities such as Class Day and dances.

Sumner Ware Shepard (January 17, 1898-December 18, 1966) was born in Everett, Massachusetts where he attended Lincoln High School. He graduated from Tufts College with a Bachelor of Arts in 1921. During his time at Tufts, he was manager of the basketball team and assistant manager of the baseball team, as well as a member of Delta Tau Delta. He married Edna G. Leving and they had two daughters. Mr. Shepard was an Army veteran of World War I. He worked for 35 years at the W.T. Grant Co., retired as chain store manager in 1958, and died in 1966.

This series contains class material and Mr. Shepard's student records. Class material include tests forms, completed test essays, and entrance exams from 1917. Student records include bills and grades as well as a physical examination report card recording dozens of Mr. Shepard's body measurements.
This series includes records of student life and memorabilia collected by Mr. Shepard during his time at Tufts. Activities covered include Greek life, specifically Delta Tau Delta, Class Day, dances, banquets, performances, and sports events. This series contains a 1917 Tufts War Service Bond (subscribed to by his mother) pasted on a card board with a related news clipping pasted on its back side.
