A Tale of Two Industries: Coke, Palm, and the Effects of Competition on Innovation.

I evaluate the change in the effectiveness of research and development spending as industry competition level changes, in order to better understand the mechanism that determines the differing levels of innovation we see in different industries. This concept is exemplified by the differences we see in the successes and failures of Coca-Cola and Palm, Inc.
