Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report article on cigarette smoking among public high school students. Finds that cigarette smoking increased with age and was more common among females. Notes that smoking is the largest single cause of preventable morbidity and mortality and that over 30 million Americans have quit smoking. Articulates need for prevention programs and tobacco cessation programs.
