Abstract: This thesis examines Chicana feminist activism of one of the first
Chicana organizations, ,Comision Femenil Mexicana Nacional. It shows the way that this
organization practiced politics left of the the National organization for Women, but did at
the same time was not a revolutionary feminist organization. From 1970-1082, they
transformed Chicana local problems into a national feminist ... read morerights agenda, but as they
became more professionalized they engaged in a liberal feminist politics, which did not end
structural inequality for all Chicana women.
